The house sport program has two main priorities. The first is to develop and extend students’ skills and co-ordination in gross motor activities such as running, throwing, catching and balancing. These are essential parts of most sports. The other is to develop within students an appreciation that physical activity and increased fitness can both feel good and be fun.

With this in mind, Jasper Road has taken the opportunity to make use of the new walking tracks in the Balcombe Heights Estate complex across the road. Here, students walk at various speeds in groups of their choosing. Activities such as Frisbee, Treasure Hunt, bean bag races, Sticky Ball games etc., are incorporated to provide interest and to extend gross motor skills. Ten Pin Bowling and various water sports are optional activities offered away from the school at venues in the local area.

Many students who are not inclined towards the traditional team sports find that they enjoy and sometimes excel at other physical activities and as a school, Jasper Road recognises this.
