Jasper Road Public School, set in spacious and attractive grounds, provides an excellent education for all students. In addition to the basic skills of literacy and numeracy, we provide a range of extra activities to extend and enrich student learning. We have a high reputation for excellence in academics, technology, the arts and sport.

Educators have long realised that school is itself a microcosm of the larger world; a world in which our students must ultimately make their own way. As a well managed public school we prepare young Australians to meet the challenge of adult life. Jasper Road Public School is a place where students, through skilled guidance, attain their maximum potential in a caring and stimulating environment.

While a sense of community and participation is fostered at Jasper Road, we also recognise the diversity of achievement among our students. Gifted students in any area, intellectual or physical, are given the individual opportunity to achieve their best through carefully developed strategies and programs. Children with particular learning difficulties receive individual attention from staff trained in working with students with special needs. For those students to whom English is not their first language, Jasper Road provides specific support programs.  

We believe the changing needs and values of the wider community must be reflected in the school’s curriculum. At Jasper Road a keen interest is taken in Environmental Education. A Student Representative Council meets regularly so that students can put forward and discuss ideas relating to the school and its operation. 

Technology is used extensively at Jasper Road. Several computers in every classroom and a computer lab afford students the opportunity to daily apply technology to all subjects. Classrooms have access to internet and email facilities. Classes can communicate with one another using the schools intranet. The school library is well appointed and stocked with an extensive range of reference and fictional reading material. We also maintain an extensive video and CD-Rom Library to enhance student learning. 

We have four classes for students whose primary disability is physical. Jasper Road pursues an inclusive education policy with several students with disabilities fully integrated into mainstream classes. Our facilities and availability of specialist staff makes Jasper Road Public School a leader in the education of students with special needs. 

We are a compulsory uniform school. We believe this practice enhances the pride our children feel in being recognised as Jasper Road students and engenders strong camaraderie and unity of purpose. 

Parent participation is a feature of our school. There is a strong partnership between the school and its parent community. The contribution of parents is greatly valued. For the benefit of working parents, before and after school care is available on site.
