In Year 1
students learn to become more independent, taking greater
responsibility for their role in the learning process. The students enjoy a
range of activities across the Key Learning Areas. They
continue to develop
their literacy skills through guided group activities as well as whole class
lessons. Through the HSIE and Science units the students begin to
develop their
lateral and creative thinking skills.
In Year 2 students take part in a
range of learning experiences across the
six Key Learning Areas. They consolidate their skills in literacy and numeracy
through guided group activities and explicit teaching practices. They learn to
use a number of creative and lateral thinking strategies in all subject areas.
Students also develop their social and cooperative work skills.
